A Community Place - Information

:: A project of United Ministry, A Community Place is a center that serves the homeless, working poor, seniors and children in the neighborhood by providing healthy bag lunches, bus tokens for appointments, referrals to jobs, health centers, shelters, and food or clothing distributors.

A Community Place hours are determined each semester by the staff. We are located in St. Mark's Lutheran Church across the street from Gate 6.

Come get your new A Community Place cards. If someone stops you on or near campus to ask for “spare change”, money for gas, etc., you can hand them an ACP card and urge them to go there for help.

It is always acceptable to say “I’m sorry, A Community Place is the agency I work with. Here is their business card and you will find them open at these hours right on the other side of Vermont Avenue.” ACP cards are available in the United Ministry lounge, or email us your campus address and we will send you a stack through campus mail. ::
