Orchard House, at 2807 Orchard Ave, is provided through United Ministry as housing for students looking to form a diverse and active living community with an emphasis on community outreach and service.
Residents are asked to contribute 20 hours of community service per term through a variety of means, especially bi-weekly lunch packing for A Community Place, a group affiliated with United Ministry dedicated to providing food to the area's homeless and working poor.
The house itself has 6 rooms for a total of 8 possible residents. It also includes a fully-functional kitchen, washer, dryer, dining room, living room, and heating system. Rent varies by room, depending on size, and includes utilities. Residents are also expected to help pay for the gardener and cleaning person who come biweekly.
