Carole Shammas

Carole Shammas researches and teaches the socio-economic history of early modern Britain and North America prior to the mid-nineteenth century.  She has written on wealth distribution, inheritance, and standards of living. Currently she is studying American housing and spatial organization and completing a project on the decline of household government in the United States.
