Dr. Koichi Mera, Professor of Clinical, International Business, has been teaching at Marshall School of Business of the University of Southern California since 1995. His strength lies in his long experience of doing business, research, and teaching in Japan and the rest of East Asia. He is also affiliated with USC's School of Policy, Planning, and Development and its East Asian Studies Center. In addition to his teaching experience, he worked with the World Bank as Regional Development Advisor and helped develop its operational policies in the urban development sector. He also undertook a large number of consulting works to Japanese government ministries, international organizations, and private firms in Japan and other countries. He has written extensively in academic and professional journals on such subjects as urban and regional economics, Asian economic and management issues, foreign aid policies, property market and public policy issues in Japan, and decicion-making process in the government. Professor Mera served as President of PRCUD in 1990-92, and President of Applied Regional Science Conference in 1989-92. He is currently engaged in a research project on the Asian financial crisis to which the real estate sector played a significant role.
