Weiming Lu, President of Lowertown Redevelopment Corporation (lrc) since 1981, has earned international recognition for his work in three American cities, St. Paul, Dallas, and Minneapolis, and is regularly sought as an advisor to governments, foundations and private industry in urban design and public-private partnerships. Lu has served as a consultant to numerous public and private organizations both in the U.S. and internationally. During his career he has received many honors and awards, including the Quadrennial Presidential Award for Design Excellence in 1985. He is an Honorary Member of the American Institute of Architects, a member of the Urban Land Institute. He has lectured extensively in the United States and around the world, including Harvard, MIT, UC Berkeley, Warsaw, Waseda, Tsinghwa, and many others,and the national Mayor's Institute for City Design. He has been an active participant in many international conferences and have published in many international and U.S. journals, and cited in a number of books, made into films, and exhibited at museums. |
