I am an Associate Professor of Linguistics and Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Southern California.  I received my Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000.  From 1998 to 2000, I worked as a research associate in the Brain and Language Lab in the Department of Neuroscience at Georgetown University.  I have been at USC since the fall of 2000.

My work focuses on syntax and on the interface between syntax and semantics. It employs formal modeling, cross-linguistic comparison from a synchronic and diachronic perspective, and neurolinguistic experimentation. Among my main ongoing projects are:

· the grammar and processing of comparatives

· tense and aspect

· the historical syntax of South Slavic
