( 90 points in total)

Class Presentation ( 20 points):

* Well prepared and coordinated ("smooth presentation)?

* Informative for primary audience (students)?

* Use of presentation technology.

* Illustrates thorough research and analysis.

Written Report ( 70 points):

Written Project Grading Criteria:

1. Originality/Creativity and, where appropriate, complexity of the organization selected. (Does analysis go beyond the standard examples presented in Pincus and in the other readings?)

2. Extent that the Theme III ideas are investigated and applied to the selected organization.

3. Quality of analysis of the chosen Theme III issues.

4. Quality of writing

5. Documentation of and extent of research conducted on your organization.

Typical Report:

a. Complete, Signed Title Page

b. Executive Summary (1 page)

c. Body of the report (5 pages of text maximum, double-spaced, 12 pt. Font)

d. Appendices (must contain only important supporting materials and be well organized with a table of contents.

2. Quality of research conducted to identify organizations use of accounting information about economic resources ( 10 points).

2. Use of methods, concepts, ideas introduced in Theme III ( 25 points):

* The Nature of Economic Resources

* What are assets and how are they measured?

* Importance of user information needs (e.g. management, owners, creditors, and government)

* Changing Technology and management focus

* Issues related to Product, service & project costing

* Owners & Creditors as users of accounting information about economic resources

* Limitations of financial information about economic resources.

* Accounting information about intellectual capital.

* Accounting Information and privatization

3. Quality of Illustrations, Analysis, Ideas (10 points):

* Identification of both problems and opportunities that relate to the organizations need for accounting information about economic resources

4. Originality/Creativity (5 points)
