ANNOUNCEMENT 2: 6/17/98: Changes to syllabus
Now available on the website are (1) the take-home final examination
questions and (2) the revised syllabus for the course. As with the paper
topics, the final examination questions are linked to the appropriate
place in the syllabus.
The changes in the syllabus are these: (1) The final examination is
changed from an in-class essay exam taken on July 6 to a take-home essay
exam (two essays) to be turned in on July 6. (2) The class meeting for
June 22 is CANCELLED--no meeting will be held that day. (3) The
scheduled topics and readings for all the class meetings from 6/22 onwards
are pushed back one session. (4) The second paper is due June 24.* (5)
The third paper (rewrite of paper 1 or 2) is due July 6. (6) The student
evaluation of the course will take place on July 6, midway through the
meeting time.
*Note: as announced in class on 6/17, if you turn your paper in to my
mailbox (MHP-113, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. M-F) no later than 11:00 a.m.
Wednesday June 23, I will be able to have the graded paper with comments
back to you by the class meeting on June 24, so you would be able to work
on a rewrite over the weekend, and may turn the rewrite in on July 1. You
have until July 6 to turn the rewrite in, whether or not you turned in the
second paper by the morning of June 23.
Remember the general policy: if you do not hand in your work to me
personally, you should send me an e-mail (mccann@rcf.usc.edu) saying that
e.g. you put it in my mailbox, or however it was you submitted the work,
together with the date and approximate time of submission. Thanks.
