A demonstration version of TOP Modeler™ is available for free download. The demonstration version has most of the functionalities of the full version of TOP Modeler™. The demonstration version contains a smaller knowledge base, and thus fewer organizational features can be modeled.

The Full version of TOP Modeler™ is also now available for free download.

To download either TOP Modeler™ version, read the following instructions, and then click the appropriate download link below. You will need about 50-60 MB of disk space on your machine to install either version TOP Modeler™. The TOP Modeler™ software is delivered as a self-extracting WinZip archive.

Instructions:

1. Click the download link below to download the TOP Modeler™ software archive. The archive file is named either "TMDEMO.exe" or "TMFULL.exe". This archive is approximately 6.8 MB in size, and will take about 40 minutes to download using a 28.8 Kbps modem. (It will of course be much faster with a direct network connection.) You can put this archive into any directory in which you have about 8MB of space.

2. The archive file is actually a runnable program that self-extracts its contents. So you just run the program "TMDEMO.exe" or "TMFULL.exe" to extract the files into a temporary directory of your choice. To run this program, use Run from the Start menu on Win95/98/NT/2000, or doubleclick on the ".exe" file itself, and supply the directory into which you want the setup files extracted, when requested. You will need an additional 7-8 MB of space in the directory into which you extract the archive, for this extraction.

3. Run the program "setup.exe"---one of the extracted files. This will set up the TOP Modeler™ version you have downloaded on your system.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

TOP Modeler™ uses very recent versions of Microsoft technology, and it shares some Microsoft files used by MS Office programs such as Excel and Access. If you don't have quite recent (Office97) versions of MS Office programs (especially Access and Excel) you may wish to upgrade these before installing TOP Modeler™. When installing TOP Modeler™, if you choose to "upgrade" your existing, older Microsoft files, your older MS Office applications may not work properly.

As TOP Modeler™ is installing its files, you may be asked if you want to replace a newer file already on your machine with an older one from TOP Modeler™ (i.e. downgrade). The installer recommends that you keep your existing (newer) file. You should accept the installer's recommendation on this question and keep your current (newer) files---please don't replace a newer file with an older one from TOP Modeler™..

4. After you have run setup, you will be able to use the TOP Modeler™ Help file (TMDMHP.hlp or TMFLHLP.hlp) to get additional information about TOP Modeler™ before you run it, if desired. Simply doubleclick on this file in the TOP Modeler™ home directory. You will see a contents page that includes a tutorial, menu help, and release notes.

5. Run TOP Modeler™ by using the Program Files icon or by double-clicking on the file "TOPModelerDemo.exe" or "TOPModeler.exe". To begin using TOP Modeler™, you will have to agree to the license terms.

The first time you use the TOP Modeler™ Full version you will have to enter the Universal Registration Key that is in the file "UniversalRegKey.txt". (the Demo versoin doesn't require this Key.) You may either type the Key in, or copy and paste it in; if you type it in, do not press "Enter" or "Return" immediately---instead, tab to the OK button and then press "Enter", or use the mouse to click the OK button. If it the registration Key is not accepted the first time, try retyping or copying and pasting several times; you may have accidentally mistyped it. Please recall that this key is case-sensitive and must be typed exactly as it appears in the file. Once the Registration Key is accepted, you never need to enter it again for future uses of TOP Modeler™. The next screen you will see will ask you to review the license agreement, and if it is acceptable to you, go ahead and click on the "yes" button and proceed to using TOP Modeler™!
