Client Projects
IS Consulting Course - IOM 546
WHAT IS AN IS? The world of Information Systems (IS) Analysis is changing fast. Information Systems are no longer just tools that help or replace how people perform their work; instead, information systems now are integral to a business' competitive strategy and tend to pervade and change the way work is accomplished.
WHY PROJECTS? Information Systems Analysts no longer just analyze existing processes; they, instead, are Information Systems Designers who help design both how work is done and the tools needed to perform the work. Client projects are an integral part of the classroom experience. Members of the project team work with the client to understand their business before designing an IS.
CAN MBA STUDENTS REALLY DELIVER SOMETHING WORTHWHILE? A resounding YES. The following pages provide you with testimonials from satisfied clients, final reports provided by the project teams, and prototypes of the delivered IS.
WHO ARE YOUR CLIENTS? Small companies and organizations of any kind are preferred to limit the scope of the project. Please look to see what was done for And here's Lily, Asian-American Ministries, Charlie Chan Printing, Hansen Computer Works, Jay Miller, USC After School Sports Connection, and USC National Youth Sports Program. Clients from large companies are also welcome when a sufficiently narrow scope can be defined. Examples include projects done for The Aerospace Institute (part of The Aerospace Corporation).
WHO DO I CONTACT FOR MORE INFORMATION? After browsing the testimonials from clients and sample projects, submit a client application form or contact me directly at 213-740-4023.
