The Southern California Twin Project coordinates a series of research studies of twins. The primary goal of this research is to understand the roles of heredity (genes) and environment (culture) in producing individual differences in human behavior. Topics of investigation include personality, cognitive abilities, mate selection, antisocial behavior and delinquency.
Twins and families of twins who would like to be informed of this research, or who might wish to participate in one or more studies may sign up with the Southern California Twin Register at USC.
Twins of all ages are eligible for inclusion in this twin register. To register, simply send an email to Dr. Baker at the address below, or call Dr. Baker (213) 740-2261 at the University of Southern California.
We are currently seeking 14-15 year old twins within driving distance of USC, which is near downtown Los Angeles. All types of twins within this age range are eligible, including monozygotic (identical), dizygotic (fraternal) like-sex and unlike-sex pairs. Families participating in a 5- to 6-hour laboratory visit will be compensated for their time and travel expenses. Please contact Mafalda Barton in our offices (213-740-2259) for more information.
The Southern California Twin Project is directed by Dr. Laura A. Baker , who is a faculty member in the Psychology Department at the University of Southern California . The Twin Project staff includes research faculty, graduate students, undergraduate research assistants, lab technicians and administrators.
Twins or their family members may find out more about the Southern California Twin Project, or sign up for the register by sending an e-mail to: usctwins@usc.edu.
