An International Forum on

Managing the Global

Organized by
The Annenberg School for Communication, USC
and
The London School of Economics and Political Science
This forum will involve the presentation and discussion of papers, primarily composed of work by faculty of the London School of Economics and Political Science and the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California, who are participating in the development of a joint international degree offering of their two schools. Those presenting papers will be invited to the second session in London in 2000 on the same theme, and be considered for inclusion in an edited book, tentatively entitled 'Managing the Global.'
The forum will be followed and linked with a conference, organized by the journal Information, Communication and Society (iCS), which will pick up several themes of globalization, but focus on 'New Media in Higher Education and Learning', centered on the coming revolution in college and university education.

In addition to the proposed book on globalization, selected papers from the forum and conference may be reviewed for publication in other issues of iCS and in New Media and Society, Prometheus, or other journals with which Annenberg and LSE faculty are affiliated.
