Professor Peter F. Cowhey, Acting Director of the Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation (IGCC). Peter Cowhey's work on international telecommunications, most recently within the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, has given him a broad and historical perspective on globalization and communication. He will draw from his own synthesis of this area to react and extend the day's discussion.

9.30 am-3.45 pm Research Colloquium: Managing the Global

Annenberg-LSE research colloquium on `Managing the Global', with presentations and discussion of about 5-10 academic papers from a larger number being developed for an edited volume. All colloquium participants not presenting papers will be invited to submit short (1-5 page) 'position papers' (brief statements of problems, issues, or points of view on the topic) for circulation in advance of the session. The meeting will be audio-taped for development of any synthesis of the discussion, but otherwise not broadcast beyond the forum participants.
