Lectures: MWF 12:00 in KAP 141
Textbook:
I will follow Hartshorne, Algebraic Geometry for the algebraic
geometry,
for the K-theory I use the draft of a book which can be found on

Course Material and Goals Algebraic K-theory is an important invariant to study schemes and coherent modules and vector bundles on them. We will start with introducing sheaves, schemes and their basic properties, and define coherent sheaves and vector bundles. Having this back-ground, we will define higher K-groups and G-groups of schemes using the category of vector bundles and coherent sheaves. Finally, I will discuss properties of these groups and give applications. It should be possible to follow most of the class with a solid knowledge of the material of 510b, and the fall semester course or some knowledge of schemes.
