Christine Coffman (comparative literature) has graduated and has received a one-year appointment at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Molly Engelhardt (english) has had her article "Cheerleaders, Feminists and 'Other Grotesqueries': Politics From the Sidelines" accepted for publication in an anthology about gender roles and 1970s popular culture. She was awarded the Louise Kerckhoff prize for best graduate essay in gender studies for her dissertation chapter, "Reckless Debutantes and the Spectre of Coming Out."

Robert J. Franklin (law) received the Louise Kerckhoff prize for best graduate student essay in gender studies for his essay "Jefferson's Daughters: Americans' Continuing Ambuiguity Towards Equal Pay for Women." This note appeared in the Southern California Review of Law and Women's Studies.

Alison de Fren (cinema) was awarded the Cagney and Lacey fellowship from the center. her video "misc. heathens" screened at the Channel Islands Indie Film Festival in Oxnard. Her fideo "ASFR" (alt.sex.fetish. robots, an internet community that explores sexual fantasies about robots and androids) screened as part of the "Faster, Harder, Shorter" film festival at White Columns Gallery in NYC and won the grand prize at the Spyworm Shootout competition. it's now streaming at www.spyworm.tv.

Miriam Kim (cinema) was awarded the Diane Meehan fellowship in feminism and communication.

Lynn Sacco (history) has graduated and has a post-doc at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Ned Schantz (english) was awarded the Diane Meehan fellowship in feminism and communication.

Jennifer Blythe Vega (international and intercultural education) received the Stoops Phi Delta Kappa scholarship this summer and the Mary and Howard Reed scholarship this fall.
